Wend Care partners with local health systems to connect healthcare workers to the employers that can help them achieve their goals.

Our Philosophy

We never charge organizations subscription, setup, or advertising fees. Our employer partners only pay when a Wend Care applicant is hired.

About Us

In 2009, brothers Patrick and Daniel Brown founded Occam Education to help students find and win admission to competitive university programs that fit their unique interests and career goals.

To make Occam's admissions advising tips and test preparation resources more accessible, they launched the app Wend in 2021. Over time, many app users expressed interest in entry-level healthcare careers that did not require the college degrees promoted within Wend.

Based on this user feedback, Daniel and Patrick launched Wend Care in November 2023 to connect users to the resources that will allow them to further their healthcare careers.

Now, we partner with hospitals, training programs, and health systems to complement existing recruiting efforts, minimize costs, and create an ecosystem of future workers.

Employer FAQs

How does a partnership with Wend Care work?

When we partner with an employer, we work together to identify which entry-level positions at their healthcare system they would like us to advertise. Then, we highlight those roles using our own marketing budget.

When a user connects with Wend Care, our career counselors gather information about their career goals, scheduling needs, education level, and employment background, then recommend jobs based on their answers.

Each user receives a curated list of recommended positions and personalized application advice.

When one of our users gets hired and begins working at the partner institution, we collect a commission fee.

How much does partnership cost?

There are no setup or subscription fees associated with partnership.

We do not charge partners signing, listing, or marketing fees; instead, we charge a fee when a user is successfully hired as a result of our advertising campaigns.

How do you choose which jobs to advertise?

We work together with our partners to agree on a list of jobs to showcase prior to beginning an advertising campaign.

Focusing on entry-level careers allows us to reach users that are interested in healthcare but have not yet worked in the industry.

What is the target demographic for Wend Care?

We focus on reaching users that have demonstrated an interest in healthcare but may not have yet worked in the healthcare industry.

As a result, Wend Care users come from a variety of backgrounds, spanning different age groups, genders, racial and ethnic backgrounds, education levels, and employment experiences.

While some of our users have extensive experience working as Certified Nurse Aides, Medical Assistants, and Home Health Aides, others are just beginning their careers.

By educating and encouraging those that may be new to working in patient care, Wend Care reaches workers that are often missed by traditional recruiting techniques.
